  • A Warm Welcome from your Assistant Director of Early Childhood

Dear students, families, and the community,

I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Assistant Director of Early Childhood in Prairie Hills District 144. It is an honor and privilege to join a community that is committed to providing enriching, rigorous, and holistic learning experiences for all students.

I received my undergrad in Early Childhood from Xavier University, a Masters of Arts in Teaching, a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an Advanced Professional Specialization, as well as an endorsement in Learning Behavioral Specialist, all from National Louis University. I am married and have three little ones aged 9,7, and 3.  I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with my family.   I have a strong foundation in early childhood and special education. I bring a wealth of experience and passion to the role of Assistant Director of Early Childhood. Having taught preschool and kindergarten, as well as serving diverse learners in special education from kindergarten through eighth grade within Chicago Public Schools, I developed a deep understanding of child development, inclusive practices, and curriculum alignment. I believe deeply in the power of collaboration—working closely with educators, families, and community partners to create cohesive, supportive learning environments. My commitment is building systems that not only strengthen classroom instruction but also empower families and foster meaningful student growth from the earliest years.

In the coming weeks and months, I look forward to learning about your family goals and how we can help in making learning in this district a success for your child.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Kanesha Gonzalez

    Assistant Director of Early Childhood
